Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely acclaimed for pioneering the study of child witnesses and eyewitness memories within legal contexts. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with numerous publications and many grants, is also the recipient of numerous international and national awards. She has offered consulting on research and policy for numerous government agencies and departments across the world. She serves as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of a variety of professional organizations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a part of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as the president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology-Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
