Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actor for more than twenty years. Her most well-known role is her character Skyler White in Breaking Bad, an AMC drama series Breaking Bad for which she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting actor in an Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. Her other roles are Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Anna Gunn grew up in Sante Fe New Mexico and was awed by acting when she was in the Preparatory School. The late 70's, her family relocated to Ohio. She attended theatre classes at Northwestern University and spent a semester in the British American Drama Academy. Anna started out in Chicago and worked in theater roles for many years. Later, she relocated to Hollywood, where she began her acting career in TV shows and films. Anna received her breakthrough in the year 1992, when she portrayed Arden for the duration of 29 episodes on Down the Shore. In addition, she was on Seinfeld and NYPD Blue. Then it was not until the end of the 1990s when she was cast in the role of The Practice. She starred as Martha Bullock in Deadwood for two seasons throughout the decade of 2000. Skyler was her Breaking Bad role from 2008. Sully in addition to Deadwood was another movie she appeared in. Gunn was on stage in David Schwimmer's Sex With Strangers. Gunn also appeared in the podcast audio drama of four episodes The Numbered Days series, which made available in 2022. The romance between Walter White and his wife Skyler is often the backbone of the narrative in Breaking Bad with the strained connection between them and eventually its demise echoing the same storyline of Walter White's final years of his life.
